ENTERTAINING ORMSKIRK AUDIENCES FOR OVER 60 YEARS!
Derby
Players
were formed in Ormskirk, Lancashire in 1946 and have been entertaining
audiences ever since. We took the name 'Derby' from Derby Street,
Ormskirk, where we used to rehearse in those days.
We
usually perform three productions a year, a
play in May and October, and a Christmas production in early January.
We meet twice a week during production rehearsals, Mondays and
Wednesdays at Ormskirk Civic Hall, from 8pm to 10pm. Our productions
are staged at the Civic Hall.
Reading
and casting for productions usually takes
place January/February; June/July; and October of each year - if you're
interested in taking part in our next production, these are the best
times to contact us.
We
are always happy to welcome new members,
young or old, experienced or inexperienced (especially young men!). If
you don't fancy acting, there is always plenty to do backstage.
